L’Actuel Medical Clinic

Founded in 1984, L’Actuel Medical Clinic pioneered development in matters of detection and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as well as patient management services for individuals living with HIV and AIDS.

L’Actuel today comprises specialized clinics, laboratory and pharmacy services, and a clinical research centre. The team of twenty physicians conducts more than 30 000 medical consultations a year.

L’Actuel/GTI Canada partnership

GTI Canada makes available to clients three groups of experts who work together with one another under the direction of a project manager. Since 2002, we have called upon the knowledge and know how of each of these three groups.

Business Solutions Group This group designed and implemented our billing system—services not insured under Québec’s public health insurance plan—and, more recently, our time sheet management system. The billing system is tied in with our Purkinje software to avoid duplicating client data entry. Periodically, the latest FileMaker and Purkinje technological advances are integrated into our system. This allows us to sustain system flexibility and benefit fully from all functionalities. Once a year, the group archives system data.

Facilities Management Group This group conducted a comprehensive infrastructure audit and drew up a practical updating plan replete with budget estimates based on our business priorities. The plan has since been updated from time to time, thereby enabling us to enhance IT investment planning. The group ensures that our systems operate properly and securely by means of a daily preventive morning watch and a weekly visit to clinic premises.

The group is also called upon to cooperate with us in projects such as the following

  • Integration of our network into that of RTSS when the clinic became a Family Medicine Group (FMG).
  •  Research into and setup of a dedicated, secure remote access function which our team uses when travelling abroad.
Sales Consulting Group – Hardware and Software

This group enjoys access to all large hardware and software manufacturers, and is therefore poised to recommend the optimal price/quality solution in addition to managing licence renewals and warranties.
