FileMaker beta tester, GTI Canada is already well-versed in Version 8. In the September 2 issue of CND (Computer Dealer News) Andrée Blais is said to be excited with the ability to create custom menus and PDFs from inside the database. She added that “It (FileMaker 8) will help generate more business in part because these and other new tools will help cut development time.” She was referring to, among other features, the ease of copying tables from previous FileMaker solutions. A first in Canada. GTI Canada develops a Customized Compliance Management System for HDEI (Home Depot Expert Installation) on behalf of Compliance Management Inc.

Compliance Management Inc. (CMI) is a subsidiary of DKC Group, a collection of family owned and operated insurance and financial services brokerages in Ontario. CMI is an outsourcing service provider of compliance management functions for Retailers’ Authorized Independent installers

CMI entered into an outsourcing agreement with Home Depot in 2005 following which it selected GTI Canada to develop the Customized Compliance Management System for HDEI.

The selection of GTI was based on the fact that (1) it is one of the 26 FileMaker partners worldwide and (2) it demonstrated a good grasp of the business challenges involved.

This lawyer firm was looking for solutions to bring the downtime to a minimum. It asked GTI if it could move and install the telephone system on top of the IT network. Cable installation, programming of the telephones and the faxes, transfer of the servers and the workstations everything was up and working on the following Monday.

GTI has developed a two-day seminar to accelerate the process and reduce corresponding investments. At the conclusion of the seminar, the participants have the necessary information to support a sound risk management policy for their firm.
