New to DevCon meetup orientation session

This session is an orientation session for a roadmap to the FileMaker DevCon 2017. There we had a chance to meet the customer experience team of FileMaker. Introduction to FileMaker go app and how to use it it was well made and very helpful and very well done.

Focused on where is FileMaker going next. FileMaker Inc is doing well!

What is driving FileMaker

Mobility drives FileMaker, the goal is to surpass desktop PC. Because millions of mobility devices FileMaker is the ideal platform to deliver mobile apps quickly:

• signature capture,
• barcodes,
• GPS,
• encryption,
• cross-platform.

Here are some of the tools that are “out of the box” using FileMaker. The company is part of Apple and they use that as an advantage. Every new MacBook will have a FileMaker educational launcher and what a customer can do with FileMaker with 16 new video tutorials.

New features

New features discussed for new realease dates including a new and redesigned FileMaker server and the big feature was the ability to include multiple email attachments in a FileMaker generated email.

The FileMaker Training for intermediate Developers

The training session provides high level discussions of important intermediate concepts needed to create rich functionality.

FileMaker for advanced developers

In this session, there were ways to gain hands on experience with advanced FileMaker pro concepts topics include execute SQL function, complex scripting reporting using virtual lists.

Connecting FileMaker to the web

FileMaker can connect to an ever-growing array of API and web services that make up the Internet The work shop showed methods how to exchange data between standard based web API’s and FileMaker custom apps.

CWP Users Group this training session focused on Custom web publishing tools to use various standard web technologies with CWP.

How to Sync files and data over the web using:

• Filesync
• Forklift
• Future of CWP & PHP highly recommended to upgrade to PHP7
• PHP 7 should be used instead with massive speed improvements
• FMgo (FileMaker GO) for IOS App/FMS was used to sync with custom web publishing for a construction company and syncs data over the air to update FileMaker server
