Needs
With an end-of-life server, the OPPQ sought to update and optimize its IT infrastructure. Virtualization appears as a good solution.
Solution
To adequately meet the needs of the organization, our Software Solutions team evaluated various options, ultimately choosing a Lenovo server. With VMware virtualization, the new server brings together:
- One primary server,
- One mailbox server,
- A third one for the SQL database.
Results
The project led to several migrations:
- Roles of the previous main server have been moved to a new Windows 2012 R2 server,
- A second server of the same type has migrated some 100 e-mail boxes of the Order from Exchange 2007 to 2016,
- To improve infrastructure security, a local backup solution with VEEAM including a backup plan with offsite backup has also been implemented.
The OPPQ therefore has more flexibility and efficiency in its operations.
