Just For Laugh Festival’s IT Needs

The next 35th edition of Just for Laugh festival will take place from 15th to 30thof July. This is the biggest humor festival in the world with 2.5 million of visitors each year. The festival became an unmissable event in Montreal.

As the IT business partner for the 6th consecutive year, GTI will oversee:

  • Software and hardware planning needs
  • IT infrastructure deployment
  • Technical support

Software and hardware planning needs

Each year on march, our GTI team organized the technologic environment for 100 employees that will be assigned to a post on July.

It’s also the moment for our managed IT services team to assess employees’ needs in terms of hardware, mobile telephony. They also deal with email solution, access rights for directory and remote access. In a second time, our specialists advise logistic, purchasing, operation and ticket office departments for choosing the best IT for temporary places of the Festival.

IT infrastructure department

The genuine field work starts one week before the official event’s launch. Because of the very small timing there is no room for error. The IT setup must be realized with precision.

The work of our experts’ team includes:

  • Logistic employee’s room
  • PR employee’s room
  • TV production employee’ room
  • Ticket office and temporary store

Here is the planning of the infrastructure deployment:

  • Networks equipment, hardware and printer setup
  • Store and ticket office sales terminal
  • Creation of a temporary network linked to the home office of Just for Laugh for remoted employees during the Festival
  • Support for employee move on temporary places.

GTI is also in charge of loan hardware. Employees can order IT from a dedicate website managing by our purchase team.

Technical support

GTI ensures IT operations and a technical support for users during the Festival. There are two teams to answer all users’ needs and to prevent problems that could occurred during this major event. A day team and a watch team during nights and weekends.

To conclude

GTI is proud to contribute to the Festival’ success every year. The importance of the event through several months make this project one of the biggest of our company.
