Mobile app | Ticket scanner | MultipleMedia

A mobile app that scans tickets for shows.

We have developed a mobile app for the JFL42 festival. It eliminates the need for investment in specific equipment (it can be installed on any Android phone), increases show attendance (as it extends the ticket sales period until the last minute), reduces human error, and prevents fraud, as all information is interconnected and shared in real time. Here is a brief introduction to our “Ticket Scanner” in a few points. application mobile   Usually, when checking tickets during a festival, employees use ticket scanners. These scanners are not connected to each other, let alone to a database. This means that audience profiles cannot be updated when their tickets are scanned. Since the app is connected to the user database in real time, a spectator can reserve a ticket for a show just minutes before arriving at the box office. The app is easy to use. Volunteer teams can be trained in just a few minutes: 1. Opening the appapplication mobile 2. Selection of the theater (e.g., Royal Theater) 3. Select the desired performance (e.g., Jenny Slate, Friday, September 22 at 9 p.m.) 4. It's ready: staff just need to scan the QR code presented by the spectator with their phone camera. Employees also have access at all times to the list of people who have reserved tickets for a given show and can see how many spectators have been scanned. In the event of a broken screen that makes the QR code unreadable, it can also be entered manually.

The benefits of the solution?

  1. No prior closing is required for the sale of tickets. 2. No manual handling by staff, compared to a lot of manual handling previously (no need to move around and manually download lists before/after performances). 3. Potential fraud reduced to zero (unique code + real-time checks). 4. No specialized equipment rental is required. Simple Android phones are sufficient.   The biggest challenge was to offer this instantaneity without performance issues, as several performances take place in several different rooms at the same time. This requires a lot of resources, and the application had to be optimized in this regard. The result in terms of business for the JFL42 festival is optimal venue occupancy at all times and zero fraud, at a minimal material investment cost. All of this creates a personalized, real-time, interactive experience for the audience.
