A short Information Technology Glossary

As we want to continually speak the same language, here is a short glossary to help you to better understand our experts’ profession. Sometimes, common locutions are the less meaningful!

Chapter 1: managed IT services

Managed it service: it allows you to delegate your responsibility of your IT department, in part or in full. Network administrator: he is in charge of networking systems management and operation. Virtualization: refers to the action of operating several “virtual machines” on every physical server.   Hybrid network: several operating systems working within the same network. The hybrid network makes collaboration and trades easier. Local Area Network (LAN): the company’s local network. It allows data sharing among employees who are in the same building. Wide Area Network (WAN): the company’s wild network. It allows data sharing among employees who are in different buildings, cities or even countries.  

Chapter 2: Software solutions

Understand which software are available for which needs. Customer Relationship Management CRM: marketing tool that helps to improve customer relationship and loyalty. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): a software that provides one user-interface for the entire organization to plan finance, HR, purchasing, …  

Chapter 3: Consulting services

To assess your own informatic network to call an expert at the right moment Computer auditing:  identify and assess potential risks linked to a company’s network and IT operations. Business plan continuity: this plan ensures the continuity of a company’s operations in the event of a system interruption. It will enable the resumption of IT services as soon as possible. Penetration test assessment: assess a company’s network weaknesses by creating a fake cyberattack. The purpose is to improve the safety system. Dashboards: help you visualize, measure and analyze your business’s key performance indicators in real time to make quick, informed decisions, wherever you are.
